32 Barceló hotels among the most sustainable in the world

2019 is being very fruitful for Barceló Hotel Group in terms of prizes. The last award received by 32 of its hotels, located in Spain (26), Mexico (3), Dominican Republic (2) and Portugal (1), has been the Tripadvisor Ecolíder certificate, which recognizes a selection of hotels from around the world who stand out for carrying out eco-sustainable practices and for being committed to sustainability and the environment.

The Tripadvisor Ecolíder program has been developed by Tripadvisor in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program, the International Tourism Partnership, and the Green Building Council of Spain, among other leading environmental organizations. The Ecolíder accreditation of TripAdvisor allows the most responsible and conscientious travelers to find those hotels that respect the environment, as well as access to the detailed list of eco-sustainable practices carried out by each of the selected hotels.
