In the framework of ASONAHORES DATE 2019 and with the presence of the Dominican president, the Spanish chain opened its new luxury property on an official basis
Meliá Hotels Internacional inaugurated its luxury hotel "The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real" in its holiday resort in Punta Cana, its seventh establishment in the Dominican Republic, in an event that was attended by President Danilo Medina.
In this activity, which also attended the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García Fernández, also made the launch in the country of the luxury vacation club "Circle By Melíá", which will use the facilities of The Grand Reserve.
Álvaro Tejeda Schroder, Regional Vice President for the Americas at Melíá Hotels, explained that The Grand Reserve at Paradisus is an all-inclusive hotel with 432 spacious rooms and 108 luxurious suites with direct access to the pool, garden and private terrace; and offers 8 restaurants and 6 bars, the Maia Spa, a water park, a club for children and teenagers, a Fitness Studio and 7 swimming pools that occupy 19 thousand square meters. It will employ 1,000 new collaborators.
Tejeda Schroder highlighted that The Gran Reserve and the Club Circle by Meliá strengthen the brand and the destination, and "represent the highest range of the all-inclusive modality and the highest standard in resorts in the Dominican Republic"; and it was conceived with the aim of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and as an inclusive hotel.
The hotel was built with a sophisticated design, which also incorporates the most advanced technological innovations based on the use of Internet, to facilitate the use of facilities and amenities to guests and members of the Círcle vacation club.
He recalled that the chain's relations with the country began in 1989 when Mr. Gabriel Escarrer saw the important potential it had for the positioning of luxury tourism, with a competitive financial sector, legal security, sustainable growth that reinforces the diversity of the offer and it highlights the culture, the gastronomy, the natural attractions, all this together with the best Dominican human capital.
Since then, he stressed, Meliá has created a strong link with the Dominican Republic and especially with Punta Cana whose excellent conditions for holiday tourism encouraged us to launch new projects here, all with great success.
Mr. Tejeda explained that today under the leadership of the chief executive, Vice President Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Meliá revalidates its commitment to Punta Cana, with The Grand Reserve, increasing its presence to 7 hotels, with 4000 rooms, a Shopping Center and the Cocotal Residential & Golf Club, and a team of 7,000 employees.
