At the inauguration of the 44th edition of the Tourism Tianguis of Mexico, Acapulco 2019, the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced that emphasis will be placed on urban development in popular neighborhoods of the country's tourist cities, in order to avoid contrasts with the hotel areas and marginal neighborhoods.
For its part, the Tourism Secretary of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, reported that 43.3 million international tourists will arrive in the country this year, which will mean an increase of 4.7 percent over what was recorded last year, and an of 23 thousand 600 million dollars, 10.6 percent higher than 2018.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, announced that 127 days from the current government there are already development projects in the sector that represent an investment of four thousand 865 million dollars and the generation of 23 thousand 730 direct jobs, the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that emphasis will be given to urban development in popular neighborhoods of the country's tourist cities, in order to avoid contrasts of hotel areas and marginal cities.
At the inauguration of the 44th edition of the Tourism Tianguis of Mexico, Acapulco 2019, the Chief Executive explained that this strategy translates not only into job creation but also the possibility that these cities have the infrastructure and public safety services they require, as is the case of the Renacimiento colony in Acapulco, where 500 million pesos will be invested, together with the state government, this year, as is already happening in Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit; Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo; and in Los Cabos, BCS.
Before businessmen of the sector and national and foreign investors, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, advanced that the fiscal contributions increased as well as the economic growth and the investments; the currency was strengthened and inflation controlled, which guarantees "that there will be no more taxes, no gas prices and we will not indebt the country," he stressed.
Shortly after giving a recognition to René Martínez, pioneer of the Tourist Tianguis, the President of Mexico called on the businessmen of the sector to continue encouraging tourism and put as an example of successful cases to Daniel Chávez and Juan Antonio Hernández; the latter will invest two billion pesos this year to expand the Mundo Imperial complex in Acapulco.
For its part, the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, detailed the tourism projects that are on the doorstep: the construction of nine thousand 767 hotel rooms; a thematic outlet; a tourism real estate development, in addition to the launch of the largest ferry in Latin America in the Sea of Cortez and the first of five luxury cruises that will sail next fall.
He assured that this year 43.3 million international tourists will arrive in the country, which will mean an increase of 4.7 percent more than what was registered last year, and a spill of 23.6 billion dollars, which would represent a double digit growth with 10.6 percent higher than 2018.
Only in January of this year, he added, the inflow of foreign currency for international travelers grew to two thousand 289 million dollars, 17.7 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.
He referred to the joint work he has developed with the governors for the regional integration of an "anchor" tourist product, and other complementary ones that meet the expectations of tourists.
In this sense, he gave as an example the Armando Manzanero museum in Mérida, and as complementary attractions the three Turibús routes with the Route of Nostalgia, Henequen and Haciendas that will start operations this year.
Miguel Torruco Marqués referred to the diversification of the issuing markets will focus on those countries whose travelers have presented a higher expenditure per capita, through the programs "Operation knocks doors" and "Reencounter with my roots", which will have the support of the embassies and consulates of Mexico, as part of the Collaboration Agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote tourism promotion, which was recently signed.
"Soon, in our Visit-Mexico platform we will publicize the strategies in the use of the new technological tools that allow the national and international promotion of destinations to multiply," added the head of the Sectur.
He argued that the tourist proposal of the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador seeks, based on the strength achieved, to generate a balanced regional tourism development, which would consolidate the existing destinations, as well as expand the tourist potential by creating multiple and several alternatives according to The attractions of each area of the country.
Therefore, he summarized, it is important to highlight the importance of preserving the environment in each tourism project, as well as the enhancement of historical, cultural and gastronomic identity.
When speaking, the Governor of Guerrero, Hector Astudillo, asked businessmen not to neglect tourism, "the friendly face of the country," and join efforts with the Federal Government to lift the Convention Center of Acapulco, headquarters by 36 years of the Tourism Tianguis.
Above all, he added, because it is the favorite place for Meeting Tourism that attracts more than 200 thousand people a year to the Port, in an entity where the three most important tourist cities of the state attract nearly 13 million annual visitors.
In turn, Luis Barrios, president of the National Association of Hotel Chains, asked the Chief Executive to have a "seed capital" to continue with the tourist promotion of Mexico, since 125 million dollars are required annually for communication and advertising of Mexican tourism.
In turn, the leader of Concanaco-Servytur, José Manuel López Campos, put at the disposal of the current administration the four million economic units that this Chamber has throughout the country, to perform the tasks of tourism promotion in accordance with the agreement that was made between the Sectur and the Chancellery in past days.
It was pronounced to replace the resources that come from the Right of Non Resident (DNR), that now have another destiny, because - it said - the promotion requires of public resources.
Finally, the Assistant Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (WTO), Jaime Alberto Cabal Sanclemente, expressed his support for the policies announced by the Mexican Chief Executive on Tourism.
He stressed that this activity grows above the average of the world economy, creates one in 10 jobs worldwide, represents 10.4 percent of the world's gross domestic product and constitutes 30 percent of world trade in services.
