United Airlines reveals the new image of its fleet

This renewal is part of the firm's efforts to modernize its corporate identity

Today, United Airlines presented to customers and employees the new image of their aircraft that will give a new touch to their fleet. The design represents a new step in the evolution of the United brand while remaining true to its legacy of more than 93 years of proudly serving customers around the world.

"As we enrich and improve the experience of our clients, we are transforming what people think and feel about United. The renewal of the brand's image captures this new spirit perfectly, "said Oscar Munoz, CEO of United Airlines. "Each of the improvements we have implemented in our services means a step forward in the evolution of the airline, which contributes to our constant efforts to redefine and elevate service to customers in the skies. This modernized design, especially as it relates to our iconic globe, enhances the best of United's image and values while also announcing the direction we are headed towards the services we offer our clients. "He added.

In this redesigned image of United highlights the color that is most linked to the heart of the brand: blue. Three shades of blue will be used to honor United's legacy and provide the brand with a more modern energy: Rhapsody Blue, United Blue and Sky Blue. The airline will continue to wear the iconic globe in the tail of the aircraft, which represents the extensive network of international routes connecting more than 355 destinations in nearly 60 countries. The tail of the aircraft will sport an image with gradients of three shades of blue, while the logo will appear predominantly in Sky Blue tone. The turbines and wing tips will be painted with the United Blue tonality, while the strip extending along the fuselage, an element that customers deeply appreciate of the Dreamliner fleet, will now appear on all aircraft in Rhapsody color. Blue The name of United will have greater dimensions on the body of the airplane, whereas the lower half will be painted with a shade of light gray. United's mission "Connecting people. Uniting the world. "Will be painted near the doors of each aircraft.

The new design will exhibit the colors of the updated United brand palette, which was presented last year, and will be a step towards consolidating a new visual identity for the brand. Blue continues to be the main color of the airline, but now different shades will be displayed to produce deeper colors that represent what customers think when they discover a plane flying over the skies. The new color palette includes shades of violet, one of the most iconic colors of the seats of the United Premium Plus line, which will be added to the entire fleet. When combined, the shades of violet and blue create a relaxing environment that provides a more comfortable travel experience for customers. By renewing its color palette, United will reduce the use of gold, a color that has been part of the brand's palette for the past 30 years. United's new palette also reveals renewed colors and details in the uniforms that are being created for the more than 70,000 frontline employees.

On average, the paint on United's aircraft is renewed every seven years. The first aircraft that will feature this new design is the Boeing 373-800. Throughout the year various models of narrow-body aircraft, wide-body aircraft and regional aircraft will be painted.

In 2019, United is focusing more than ever on its commitment to its customers, examining every aspect of its business to ensure that the interests of customers stay at the center of their operations. Along with today's announcement, United recently released a reimagined version of the most downloaded application in the aviation industry to offer free DIRECTV to all passengers on 211 aircraft, with more than 100 channels on more than 30,000 personal screens. The million-dollar investment in on-board entertainment improvements will benefit the more than 29 million people expected to fly this year on United's aircraft provided with DIRECTV.
