With more than 40 restaurants, bars, shops and attractions, the I-Drive entertainment destination evolves its name so that visitors have a better experience during their visit
Anchored by an observation wheel 120 meters high, which appeared on the Orlando skyline in 2015, ICON Orlando 360 recently announced that for the summer of the United States will open two new restaurants and open a cutting-edge dining room.
"In a pedestrian space of 80,000 m2, we have more than 40 restaurants, bars, shops and attractions, all located around a wonderful central garden," said Chris Jaskiewicz, CEO of the park since September 2018. "We are the perfect place to eat , drink and have fun in a really relaxed environment. " He also stated that ICON Orlando changed its name to ICON ParkTM to better capture the overall entertainment destination experience.
New restaurants include Ox Grill, which will serve contemporary cuisine with meat, pasta and a selection of international dishes. It will also have a space for weddings, meetings and special occasions. Mikado, a rotating concept of sushi, will serve dishes with fresh ingredients and top quality without additives.
"Our goal is to create new and unique experiences that will make ICON Park even more enjoyable for returning visitors or first time visitors," said Jaskiewicz.
Jaskiewicz also reported that they will have a new concept of a food hall called "Wheelhouse Market" located near the ticket office for the observation wheel, the Madame Tussauds Orlando museum and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium. Currently, inspired foods are sold around the world, such as sausages andouille, sausages and mashed potatoes, giant Bavarian pretzels; a variety of healthy acai bowls; cupcakes and sweets prepared daily; pizzas and pastas made to order and food of Latin inspiration. A variety of craft beer will be available soon.
When Wheelhouse Market opens completely this summer, visitors can place their orders and then gather at comfortable farm-type communal tables to watch sports on several giant-screen TVs or listen to live music (or an eclectic playlist), depending on the time of the day
"Food Halls are the new Food Trucks (food trucks) and are becoming destinations in their own right," said Jaskiewicz, who recently developed similar Food Halls in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and is recognized as an expert in hospitality and real estate trends. .
According to commercial real estate firm Cushman and Wakefield, which tracks restaurant and retail store trends, it is expected that the number of Food Halls that emerge in the United States will triple by 2020.
Driven by the new additions and the growing variety of visitor experiences, there will be a new signage in the entertainment destination:
The general destination, including all restaurants, bars, shops and attractions, is now called ICON Park.
The observation wheel will be called The Wheel.
The site where tickets can be purchased for The Wheel, Madame Tussauds Orlando and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium will be known as Wheelhouse.
