The airline was recognized for the second consecutive year in the APEX Passenger Choice Awards
LATAM Airlines Group was chosen for the second year in a row as the best global airline in South America (Best South American Global Airline) in the APEX Passenger Choice Awards, convened by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX, for its acronym in English).
Along with this distinction, LATAM was recognized within the region for: 'Better Comfort in Seat', 'Better Service in Cabin', 'Better Entertainment' and 'Best Wi-Fi Service'.
APEX scores on airlines classify the experience on board based on comments from thousands of passengers evaluated independently.
"For LATAM, our passengers are our priority and it is an honor to receive for the second consecutive year this distinction, voted by them. In addition, this year, we have been distinguished with the award for the best cabin service in the region, a recognition of the professionalism and quality of service of our crew and invites us to continue improving more and more, "said Juan Ordoñez, Service Director at Bordo, LATAM Airlines Group. "We work every day to ensure the best possible service - from the purchase of tickets until the flights arrive at destination on time - and we will continue to look for ways to further improve the travel experience."
Meanwhile, APEX CEO Dr. Joe Leader said: "LATAM has been recognized with a record number of regional awards at the APEX Passenger Choice Awards. Having personally experienced the level of service and quality offered by LATAM, I understand why thousands of passengers rated it so high, allowing them to win these highly respected awards in the industry. "
In March 2019, LATAM inaugurated the first aircraft with new cabins. In the next two years, two thirds of LATAM's long and short haul fleet will have renovated cabins and has meant the largest investment in the travel experience - more than $ 400 million - in the company's history. The novelties include new Premium Business seats with direct access to the corridor, LATAM + Seats, which offer more space, an exclusive upper compartment and premium services such as priority boarding, as well as a state-of-the-art on-board entertainment system.
APEX is a nonprofit organization that has worked over the past four decades to evaluate and help improve aspects of the air experience from the design, construction and installation of seating systems, entertainment and communications, and salons at airports or food on board.
