MSC Cruises provides more details about the island Ocean Cay

MSC Cruises, presented a new video rendering of its exclusive destination in the Bahamas, the MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, before the arrival of the first guests.

The video offers a view of the activities that guests can do when they visit the island. This exclusive destination of MSC Cruises is part of the itineraries in the Caribbean.

Only 65 miles off the coast of Miami, the MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve was an industrial sand mining site, now restored to pristine terrain on the Bimini Islands chain in the western Bahamas. The restored 120-square-acre island is surrounded by a 64-square-mile marine reserve and four smaller cays.

The first guests will arrive on November 9, 2019. The private island and the marine reserve offer an immersive experience in the natural beauty and its surroundings, with white sand beaches, beautiful blue waters and lush vegetation. During the day and night guests can access from the boat to the island to take advantage of all available facilities, both on land and on board.

In the video, you can see some of the key areas of the island, which include:

- Several unique beaches, including The Great Lagoon: the latter, located in a cove in the center of the island, where the beach area is larger, offers a refuge with shallow, crystal clear waters, ideal for swimming and water sports.

- The emblematic Faro: an impressive tower 30 m high that houses a Hemingway style bar and a terrace where guests can enjoy the incredible views of the sea, have a cocktail and enjoy live music. After sunset, you can see an impressive light show.

- Seakers Food Court: a buffet restaurant with freshly prepared dishes, inspired by varied international culinary traditions.

- Ice Cream Parlor: an ice cream shop and cafeteria where you can taste a wide range of flavors of ice creams and coffees.

Ocean Cay is based on a deep commitment to ecological principles: the matrix that shapes the entire project, from how space is built, to the management of the island, and the types of activities that are carried out. One of the priorities for MSC Cruises in Ocean Cay is the restoration of the coral. As an integral part of the marine ecosystem, coral must be protected, since it guarantees biodiversity, provides a habitat for marine life and protects coasts.

As of November 2019, all MSC Cruises ships from Miami will arrive at Ocean Cay as part of the Caribbean itineraries.
