Ten Spanish hotel chains will be present at MITM Americas, the pioneer and most influential trade fair for congress and meeting tourism, to be held at the National Hotel of Cuba, next October 14/17, coinciding with the city's 500th anniversary from Havana
MITM Americas has established itself as the most important event for tourism professionals in meetings, congresses and business travel, becoming a synonym for business generation. Thanks to the rigorous process of selection of buyers that is carried out, the ROI is insured.
Meliá, Iberostar, Barceló, Be Live, Riu, ROC, Evenia, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, NH Hotel Group and VP Hoteles will be the Spanish hotel representatives in this important meeting of MICE tourism. Spanish hotel groups have more than 2,000 hotels in the world, a figure that has helped to position five Spanish chains among the best in the world (Meliá, NH, Riu, Barceló and Iberostar).
The importance of the MICE sector has not gone unnoticed by Spanish hoteliers who, as indicated by the 2018 MICE Travel Report study, shows that MICE trips to Latin America grew 56% in the last five years. Between 2016 and 2017, there were 6.1 million trips to the region within the MICE category, most of them (2.4 million) to participate in meetings, conferences or seminars; 1.4 million people traveled with the objective of intervening in fairs, 1.2 million did it in incentive trips and 1.1 million attended congresses or conventions.
Seven Spanish chains among the world's top 100
In the classification that was made public in 2018 by the World Tourism Organization, four Spanish hotel chains appear: Meliá, NH, Barceló, Riu among the 50 largest in the world.
To these four, Eurostars, H10 and Iberostar are added to form seven Spanish chains among the 100 largest, by number of hotels.
