Hampton by Hilton will debut in Ecuador with new hotel in Quito

The property reinforces Hilton's expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America, as it joins a portfolio of more than 150 hotels and resorts with more than 28,500 rooms in 23 countries in the region

 

Hilton today announced plans to introduce Hampton by Hilton, to Quito, the largest city and capital of Ecuador, as part of a franchise agreement signed with Hotel Colón Internacional C.A. With construction planned to begin this year and the opening scheduled for 2021, Hampton by Hilton Carolina Park Quito represents the first property of the brand in Ecuador. The hotel also reinforces the expansion of the global hotel company in the Caribbean and Latin America, as it joins a portfolio of more than 150 hotels and resorts with more than 28,500 rooms in 23 countries in the region.

"By receiving more than 2 million visitors last year1, Ecuador has become an important tourist destination in South America and we are excited to present the Hampton by Hilton brand in the market," said Pablo Maturana, managing director of development for America of the South and the Caribbean, Hilton. "The capital of Quito has seen rapid growth in the arrival of tourists and we hope to present to travelers quality accommodation and attentive service of the brand as we continue to expand our regional portfolio in such thriving markets."

Strategically located in the heart of Quito, the 135-room hotel will welcome business and leisure travelers to all the city's cultural offerings. As part of Hampton by Hilton, the hotel will offer a warm environment, a culture of friendly service and a staff that ensures that guests are completely satisfied. The contemporary hotel will feature the brand's reliable amenities, including free hot breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour business center and gym, while each room will include HDTV, complimentary movie channels in the room , and coffee maker.

A mixture of ancient colonial architecture with modern complexes, Quito is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most populous city in Ecuador. Officially known as San Francisco de Quito, the city has historic churches, convents and monasteries, several museums, high quality restaurants, high-end shops, outdoor markets and a unique cultural heritage. With a mild climate, Quito is surrounded by volcanoes of the Andes and located in the Guayllabamba river basin.

Hilton currently has a portfolio of approximately 150 hotels and resorts in operation that receive travelers in Caribbean and Latin American destinations. In its 100 years of life, the company actively seeks other growth opportunities in the region and currently has a solid development portfolio that includes more than 90 hotels throughout the region. In the last five years, Hilton has more than doubled its portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America, and this year it plans to hold more than 20 new hotel openings throughout the region, representing almost 2,900 rooms in 11 countries and through 10 brands , including Hampton by Hilton.

Hampton by Hilton currently has more than 50 hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America and continues to expand as it enters new markets in the region, including four openings in 2019 that represent the brand's arrival in the country. Last month, the brand celebrated its 2,500th property with the opening of Hampton by Hilton Lima San Isidro, and debuted in Chile with Hampton by Hilton Antofagasta and Brazil with Hampton by Hilton Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo. Hampton by Hilton Bariloche will become the first Hampton property in Argentina later this year.
