The Central American country participates in the event held in Quito, Ecuador where it holds important meetings with top buyers of the trade segment
Honduras is participating in TravelMart LatinAmerica, a convention where more than more than 200 buyers have the opportunity to make direct contact with 174 suppliers in Latin America. The show takes place at the Quorum Quito Convention Center. There we had the chance to talk with Ana Lucía Funes, Marketing Manager of the Honduran Tourism Institute. The official commented: "We are very happy to participate in this important event. We are promoting our adventure tourism destinations, historical tourism, the beauty of our beans and new flights that enhance connectivity. We are adding a low cost flight to Roatan that part of Canada. "
"We are focusing on the US issuing market because it is the priority market. There are direct flights from different cities in Texas, from Atlanta, Washington, Miami, Orlando. In Latin America, we have Avianca and COPA flights that connect to multiple destinations."
"While Roatán and the Mayan Ruins of Copan are our attractions that receive more tourism, other alternatives such as La Ceiba, our ecotourism capital, are growing. Besides Lake Yojoa, where sustainable tourism is already well developed."
