The works have consisted of the integral renovation of all the rooms, restaurants, bars, and common areas, in addition to having expanded its facilities and services. The entire entertainment offer, as well as bars and restaurants, is part of the renowned All Inclusive by RIU 24 Hours service.
The biggest innovation that this reform brings is the introduction of the first RIU water park in Jamaica, an attraction that has successfully penetrated among the chain's clients in Mexico (Los Cabos, Costa Mujeres and Mazatlan) and in the Dominican Republic (Punta Cane).
In this reform the chain has wanted to take care of even the smallest detail in terms of entertainment, starting with the creation of its first Splash Water World in the country. The park is located in the extended section of the hotel, which also houses the conference room and the children's area, which has been completely redesigned and to which a children's pool with slides has been added. In addition, the RiuLand children's club now has a covered park that will delight the little ones with its slides, labyrinths and ball pool. All designed for maximum enjoyment of families, who will also have in this new area a bar at their disposal.
For this, in addition to the renovation of the existing ones, new family rooms have been built in this extension of the hotel, which now has a total of 901 rooms. All of them have free WiFi and with the new style that RIU is introducing in its reforms and new openings.
The pool area has also been completely redesigned, a change with which the Riu Ocho Rios now has five, two of them with swim-up bar. On the other hand, the club for teenagers ‘Riu4U’ complements the offer for young people, while the new RiuFit area is prepared so that customers do not neglect their sports habits and routines during their vacations. The incorporation of a booth for DJ’s performances in the beach area is another novelty that will make guests have a great time.
The gastronomic offer of the hotel continues to seek to satisfy the most demanding palates, making available to the guest a wide and varied portfolio of restaurants. To the main restaurant and to the Asian, Italian and steakhouse themes, a new fusion food restaurant has been added: the ‘Kulinarium’. All of them now have a fresher decoration, just as with all bars, also completely renovated. The hotel also now offers a new option for lunch in the pool area: the Jamaican Jerk-style grill station, ‘Pepe’s Food’.
RIU Hotels opened its first hotel in Jamaica in 2001 and today already has six resorts totaling more than 3,000 rooms. Two are located in Negril, three in Montego Bay and one in Ocho Rios. For next year, RIU has already planned the reform of the Riu Montego Bay, with which all its offer in the country will be completely renovated or will be of recent construction.
