This figure represents an additional 678,934 additional passengers over those registered between January and September 2018
The flow of passengers mobilized in the Dominican Republic between January - September 2019 remains for the second year over ten million, in fact registering for the first time in nine months, more than eleven million passengers, which represents an increase in relation to January - September 2018, according to the information collected by Dominican Infotur on part of the data provided by the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC).
In that sense, the country recorded the mobilization of 11,323,396 passengers in these nine months compared to the 10, 644,462 passengers who mobilized in 2018 through its international airports. That is 678,934 additional passengers.
Even when the figures remain positive, Infotur Dominican verifies that there is a reduction in the projection that was estimated taking into account the various situations that have hit tourism in the country.
As we mentioned earlier, this is the first time that the Dominican Republic mobilizes more than 11 million passengers between January - September taking into account that in the nine months of 2017, it registered the mobilization of 10,662,084 passengers, which represents an increase between 2017 and 2018 of 17,622 passengers.
Of the 11,323,396 passengers, a total of 10,282,242 were mobilized on regular flights. Of these, 5,026,827 passengers arrived through the Dominican air terminals. While 5,255,415 passengers left by them.
Meanwhile, 1,041,154 passengers were mobilized by charter flights. Of these, 512,486 arrived in the country and 528,668 left it in these eight months of 2019.
