RIU Hotels & Resorts has been awarded for its great work in Corporate Social Responsibility. The director of the Riu Palace Antillas hotel, Juan Blanco, received from the country's Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Glenbert Croes, a plaque in recognition of all the social actions that are being carried out to contribute to the development and improvement of the community.
During the award ceremony, Minister Glenbert Croes valued “the great sensitivity” that Juan Blanco and his entire team at the Riu Palace Antillas hotel have shown for years contributing to all kinds of social causes, as well as wanted to recognize “generosity of RIU Hotels & Resorts with Aruba ”, thus ensuring that the efforts that are being made from the chain, led in Aruba by Juan Blanco, are being very positive for the community.
During the award ceremony, recognition was made to the RIU family in Aruba and their management; and the importance of the private initiative to reach where the public sector does not do so was stressed. For Juan Blanco "it is an honor to receive this recognition and a pride to collect it on behalf of all those who are contributing to improve the situation of the community."
The arrival of RIU Hotels in Aruba came in 2007, when the Riu Palace Aruba opened its doors. More than ten years later, RIU's commitment to destiny remains strong, something that the chain has demonstrated both in its social actions and in the development of its activity. The Riu Palace Aruba was followed by the Riu Palace Antillas, which became part of the RIU portfolio in 2014.
RIU's efforts in Aruba add to the strategy of the CSR chain that aims to positively impact the destinations in which it works with the focus on health, childhood and biodiversity.
