Quito celebrates its 485 years of Foundation

The capital of all Ecuadorians, San Francisco de Quito, will celebrate its founding date in style, for this purpose various activities have been devised to enjoy with the family. The people of Quito have always stood out for their joy, humility and love for their traditions, especially when it comes to celebrating their city.
 
The activities organized by the Illustrious Municipality of Quito are focused on the culture and history of the capital, such as: concerts, visits to museums, traditional tours of various points of the Historic Center, shows of “stand up”, theater, activities “pet Friendly ”, for nature lovers, hiking through different parks, and many more events.
 
This Friday, December 6, you can enjoy tours aboard the cheerful Chivas Quiteñas. The trip includes a visit to different points of the Historic Center, where characters from the most representative Quito legends will revive in magnificent theatrical scenes, these works will be full of fantasy and the wonderful folklore that nourishes the history of Quito. The trip will culminate in the La Ronda neighborhood with a traditional Serenata Quiteña.
 
The tours are free and can be taken from 11:00 in different parts of the city, we recommend staying hydrated to avoid discomfort due to the height (2850 meters above sea level) and have the following items on hand considering the varied climate from the capital: sunscreen USF +50, hat, comfortable shoes, jacket (preferable waterproof) and umbrella. On the tour it is preferable not to carry valuables, carry small cash with you in case you need to buy souvenirs.
 
The party will continue on Saturday, December 7, in several walls of churches and convents of the Historic Center, with the projection of stories of the city of Quito that are full of love, devotion and rebellion, a magical night of stories told and illustrated in the walls of these heritage spaces.
 
The functions will be from 19:00 to 21:00, in the Monastery of Carmen Alto, the church of the Society of Jesus and in the Monastery of La Concepción.
