RIU concludes 2019 with the complete reform of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya

The chain has just reopened the doors of one of its most emblematic hotels in Playa del Carmen, in Mexico

RIU Hotels & Resorts has just presented in Mexico the complete renovation with which it closes an exercise full of great projects: that of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya hotel, in Playa del Carmen. The work carried out in the hotel, of 5-star category and located on the beachfront, has consisted of an absolute redesign of the outdoor area and the renovation of all common areas and rooms. In this way, you can see the new style that RIU is introducing in all its reforms and constructions, while the hotel continues to show the majesty that has characterized it since its opening in 2006.

After the renovation, the Riu Palace Riviera Maya has a total of 460 rooms, four swimming pools, six restaurants, five bars and expands its entertainment offer for both adults and children.

This new style can also be seen in the change that has taken place in restaurants, in which the buffet is separated from the tables, for the convenience of guests. In addition to having added an Italian restaurant to its gastronomic offer, ‘Il Portico’, the Riu Palace Riviera Maya will continue to offer different and varied culinary options, among which are: ‘Don Rafael’, the main restaurant with live international cuisine; ‘Yashima’, a Japanese specialty restaurant; ‘Agave’, specialized in Mexican food; ‘Chilis’, located as a pool restaurant; and the always glamorous ‘Krystal’, which offers the best fusion food dishes. To all of them we must also add Pepe’s Food, the bar that offers specialties to the Grill in the pool area.

After the reform of the Riu Vallarta (in Riviera Nayarit) and the expansion of the Riu Emerald Bay (in Mazatlan), the renovation of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya is the third major project of the chain this year in Mexico, a country in which it has 20 hotels, more than 23,000 rooms, and 10,000 employees.
