Copa airlines and Emirates strengthen alliance

Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S. A {NYSE: CPA}, and Emirates signed an alliance of their frequent flyer programs, which will allow members of ConnectMiles and EmiratesSkywards to accumulate miles traveling with either of the two airlines.

ConnectMiles members will be able to access the 143 destinations in 85 countries where Emirates operates, while EmiratesSkywards members can enjoy greater accumulation and redemption options in more than 80 destinations in 33 countries in North, Central, South America and the Caribbean It serves Copa Airlines.

"This alliance with Emirates will allow our ConnectMiles members to earn and redeem miles on trips to the Middle East, Asia and many other destinations where Emirates operates," said Timothy Manoles, vice president of ConnectMiles. "We continue working to expand our strategic alliances with important partners such as Emirates, to offer more value to our ConnecMiles members," he added.

For his part, Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, senior vice president of the Skywards division of Emirates, said that “the frequent flyer agreement with ConnectMiles consolidates the existing code-share partnership between Emirates and Copa. Thanks to this agreement, our members now they can earn and redeem miles on an extensive network of routes in the Americas and the Caribbean, strengthening our position as an industry-leading loyalty program. ”

With this new alliance, both airlines strengthen the code-share agreement they signed in 2016, providing more benefits to their passengers and the opportunity to accumulate and use their miles during their travels.
