Marriott announces the opening of its first Residence Inn in Panama

The 144-room property pays tribute to the vibrant culture and history of Panama with touches of local design

Marriott International announced today the highly anticipated opening of the first Residence Inn in Panama City. With properties located in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Central America, Residence Inn is the world leader in the longest stay accommodation segment.

Located in the Pacific Center Punta Paitilla, one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city, the Residence Inn Panama City was carefully designed to capture the vibrant culture and history of Panama. With 144 spacious well-appointed suites ranging from 440 square feet (ft2) to 840 ft2, the property will offer travelers a new option in the longer stay segment, combining comfort and style.

“Panama City is a key market for extended stay trips and the perfect place for Residence Inn by Marriott. The spacious suites with separate areas for living, working and sleeping, and fully functional kitchens will help guests maximize their time and prosper while traveling, "said Carlos Roque, General Manager of Residence Inn Panama City." Located just minutes from the Historic Old Town, travelers will have the option to enjoy restaurants, shops and nightlife creating a balance between work and life, and a real home away from home. "

The hotel offers additional facilities including daily food delivery and hot breakfast, a 24-hour market, a common laundry and a state-of-the-art gym. For guests looking for a full-service dining experience, the Sky Lobby restaurant and lounge offer local dishes that are complemented by artisanal cocktails that rescue local ingredients.

To give life to the vibrant culture and history of the destination, the Sky Lobby sports a map of Panama created by architect Maritza Lantry with wooden planks in relief. The restaurant, meanwhile, has old floors, similar to those that can be seen in Casco Antiguo, and integrates silver touches to represent the metropolitan side of Panama.

The Residence Inn Panama City offers about 2,153 ft2 of meeting space with natural light and built-in multimedia technology. Groups of up to 100 people can take advantage of social activities, group sessions, individual meetings and more.
