We have interviewed María Amalia Revelo, Minister of Tourism of the Central American country. The official has made a review of this thriving market niche

Costa Rica has once again participated in FITUR, an event organized by IFEMA that took place from January 22 to 26 in Madrid. The fair has been the starting point for a season of major events where the destination will be present and is a must with the tourism industry of Spain and the rest of Europe.

Costa Rica has set up a stand with more than 40 companies where it has shown the natural beauty of the country with elements of the ethical culture such as artistic manifestations, gastronomy and typical dances.

There we were able to talk with the Minister of Tourism María Amalia Revelo, who reviewed the current situation of the destination. The official commented: "We are very interested in the MICE segment, we are promoting the Convention Center and we are making a very large investment this year to continue attracting events. We are participating in all the fairs of this niche and working together with the private sector to promote our country".

"We have been making great progress in connectivity, we have announced new airline routes from Europe, Latin America and logically from the USA".

"While we have tourist poles already taxed, we are in a process of developing new destinations so that visitors can meet".

"In this sense, efforts will continue to continue positioning Costa Rica as a sustainable destination for the whole year, with multiple alternatives from well-being, adventure, bird watching, nature and rural tourism, culture, honeymoons, sun and beach , families, meetings and conventions or cruises, making known new areas with high potential for the development of hotels, products and tourism segments through a joint integration of marketing, public relations and together with the professional tourism sector".
