Flow of cruise tourists grows 16% in Dominican Rep.

The flow of cruise tourists exhibited extraordinary growth, from receiving 962,238 in 2017 to 1,115,722 at the end of 2019, an increase of 16%, where the periods of greatest arrivals are in January and December.

According to a report by Analytica RD, the Dominican Republic has become one of the most important points for cruises in the Caribbean, demonstrating the progress in the industry.

The country has six ports located in Santo Domingo, La Romana, Puerto Plata, Samaná and Punta Cana; these being the most available of Caribbean destinations.

The ports of Amber Cove and Casa de Campo are the most popular in the country.

Amber Cove covered 58.8% of total cruise passengers and, filtering through this port, it is possible to observe that this has been the fastest growing and dynamic in the country.
