A new era began at INGUAT

In the next 4 years, work will be carried out to boost the different destinations of Guatemala and contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the country

 

“Being in charge of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute - INGUAT- is a great challenge, but with the help of all Guatemalans, we can achieve many goals, such as transforming the tourism industry and raising it to its maximum potential, to become one of the pillars fundamental for the development and economic growth of the country ”said Mynor Cordón Director General INGUAT.

In the next 4 years, work will be carried out to boost the different destinations in the country, consolidate the tourism industry, to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of Guatemala, through the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism. Also, priority will be given to the goals of the first 100 days, the National Policy for the Development of Sustainable Tourism, tourism marketing and product development.

Continuity will also be given to the projects worked during the previous management and the Country Brand that will be developed in inter-institutional collaboration with the Presidency of the Republic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, to work together to coordinate and execute this initiative. .

"It is important to emphasize that we are all ambassadors of Guatemala, together we can achieve that it becomes the favorite destination of international tourists and of course the chapines," added Elmer Hernández Assistant Director General INGUAT.

The presentation of the work plan was attended by representatives of the private tourism sector, who as strategic allies of INGUAT will work hard on joint actions that generate adequate conditions for the development of tourism activities.
