Agreement to extend the Madrid-Iguazu flight by Air Europa

The Argentine Government and the Spanish firm agreed that the first route established between Europe and one of the seven natural wonders of the world extend until September

Although the company had scheduled its last flight for April 26, an initiative of President Alberto Fernández and efforts in Fitur 2020 by the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, made this change possible in the company's decision.

"After meeting, last December, with the governor of Misiones, Oscar Herrera Ahuad, and at the direction of President Fernández, we decided to get Air Europa to extend this flight, key to continue developing and making the Iguazu Falls known to the world, one of the great tourist attractions of the planet, "Lammens said.

Meanwhile, Javier Hidalgo, CEO of Globalia, the group of which Air Europa is part, said: "We had excellent meetings with Minister Lammens and decided to continue betting on the route. This decision reinforces the solid commitment we have with the country."

The extension of the validity of this route will be developed through Montevideo, Uruguay, using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, with capacity for 296 passengers. From April 29 to September 2, there will be a frequency on Wednesdays. From May 3 to June 14, there will be another on Sundays, which will move to Saturdays from June 20.
