Marriott CEO advierte the serious impact of this crisis

“At the end of our business, COVID-19 is like nothing we have seen before,” says Sorenson and added that "the financial impact is worse than the 11th of September and the 2009 financial crisis together"

Arne Sorenson publishes on the official Twitter page a video of the current status of the company and the detail that is causing the Covid-19 pandemic in Marriott finances.

The current financial situation, I say, is more serious than the last quarter of the company's history, which has seen a decrease of approximately 25 per cent in the media of hotel entries worldwide.

“At the end of our business, COVID-19 looks like nothing we've seen before,” says Sorenson, and the financial impact is even worse than the 11th of September and the 2009 financial crisis together.

Sorenson, who is profiting against a cancer of the pancreas, since the employees of Marriott will be there to give the welcome to the invitations when the crisis has ended, adding that “together we can overcome this, and we will prosper once more”.

The message is also aimed at hotels associated with Marriott, but it has been considered in the last few hours as an example of leadership in difficult times that could serve as an incentive for the industry as a whole.
