Hotel infrastructure continues to grow in the Dominican Republic

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tourism Development Council approved the construction of 862 new rooms today

 

As Confotur reported today, new investments exceed 107 million dollars. These are projects located in Santo Domingo, La Altagracia, La Romana and María Trinidad Sánchez.

Minister Francisco Javier García affirmed: "News like this, in the midst of this situation, reconfirms the confidence of businessmen and makes it clear why we are the leaders of tourism in the Caribbean region."

The official considers that it is a recognition of the way the Dominican government is facing the coronavirus pandemic.

García commented: "When all this happens we will meet again and the country will resume its position in world tourism."

In addition to the Ministry of Tourism, the Confotur is made up of representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Culture, Finance and Asonahores.
