RIU Hotels continues with the reactivation of its activity with the opening on June 4 of the Riu Plaza Miami Beach, in the United States. After the closure of its 99 establishments in 19 countries in March, the hotel company announced the opening of two of its urban hotels in late May, in Germany and Mexico, as a first step towards the resumption of its operations.
In the same way that Riu Plaza Berlin and Riu Plaza Guadalajara did on May 25, Riu Plaza Miami Beach is already prepared to apply the security protocols contained in the RIU Manual for the Post-COVID hotel, which offers the maximum Possible security guarantees for customers and employees. With this, the workers of the Riu Plaza Miami Beach also assume the responsibility of applying the 17 protocols created by the chain in collaboration with the consulting firm Preverisk.
RIU has created a specific training program for the implementation of the new safety, hygiene and performance protocols in all its hotels in order to gradually reopen their facilities. The measures are meticulous and strict, starting from the limitation of the occupancy of the hotels to 50% or 60%, except for more restrictive legal regulations, to offer maximum tranquility and security to users and employees, and they will gradually relax in the as health authorities issue new regulations.
The Riu Plaza Miami Beach hotel, owned by RIU since 1996, became the first hotel in the Riu Plaza line in the United States in 2015. The location of this hotel on Collins Avenue is enviable, as it has direct access to the famous promenade and beach of Miami Beach and is just a few minutes from the famous area of restaurants and drinks on Ocean Drive, while being very close to Donwtown Miami, and 25 minutes from Miami International Airport. The 4-star hotel has 284 rooms and a characteristic Art Deco façade.
