GOL approves an agreement for the preservation of jobs

The airline becomes the first in the world to close a long-term deal that includes flexibility and job stability for its employees

GOL Lineas Aereas has just approved an unprecedented collective agreement with the National Union of Aeronauts of Brazil (SNA) whose main objectives are the maintenance of labor sources and the preservation of the company's assets, in these times of challenge due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After a month of negotiations, an unprecedented agreement was reached in the aviation market, valid for the next 18 months. The measure, which can become a reference for other companies in the sector, includes 926 commanders, 964 co-pilots and 3,262 flight attendants.

"In these 20 years of the Company's history, this same team worked in different scenarios, favorable and sometimes very challenging, even in strong crises, such as those of 2008 and 2015. In all cases, we managed to overcome and surprise those around us We are a strong, united and robust company recognized as one of the best Brazilian aviation teams, with the lowest cost and a simple, adaptable and flexible business model necessary to navigate our sector, "said Celso Ferrer, Vice President of Operations at GOAL.

With two days of voting (June 3 and 4), an agreement was reached that fully meets the concerns of stability and labor flexibility, that is, the ability to respond quickly to the recovery of operations and maintain cash in the short and medium term.

Internally signed, the agreement complies with the company culture, which is guided by safety, human value and commitment to guarantee the technical quality of the team and the excellence of Customer Service.

"This challenging scenario brings us back to our early years of operations as a low-cost, low-cost carrier, but at the same time carries with it optimism and passion to deliver the best experience for each Client," added Ferrer.

GOL considers the agreement as a contribution to society, since it pursues, every day, the excellence of this service that is essential for Brazil. As soon as it completely resumes its operations in the airline sector, the Company will have preserved its plant of employees, who will be able to continue working in the same direction, as a team and with a great sense of belonging. In turn, GOL continues to work to return to international markets whenever situations are appropriate.

Finally, the manager thanked the Collaborators who participated in the agreement and the National Union of Pilots of Brazil, which demonstrated a total commitment to finding the best solution.
