Virtual tours show the beauty of Brazilian destinations

As the pandemic of the new coronavirus still affects tourism in Brazil, online tours have conquered great space on digital platforms

In addition to killing the homesickness of national destinations, online tours are also an option for scheduling new trips for tourists in the resumption of the sector. To facilitate access to them, the GoPasseios website, from a startup located in São José dos Campos (SP), decided to gather materials from several platforms in one place.

Among the options available are city tours through historic cities, visits to museums, cultural centers, libraries, natural beauty and even tours aimed at children. Tamar Project, Inhotim, São Paulo Pinacoteca, Chamber of Deputies, Portuguese Language Museum are some of the destinations offered by Google Arts & Culture, AirPano, EraVirtual, Ceará 360, Rio360 online, among others. "We realized that, although there are several great quality virtual tours out there, it was super difficult to find one or the other scattered in different sources", said Alexandre Magno, co-founder of the startup GoPasseios. “That was when the great idea of bringing together all of Brazil, that we have news, came up. Today there are more than 110 available, ”he added. Meet them all here.

Historical Heritage
Following the same line, the Eravirtual website, which disseminates and promotes the Brazilian cultural heritage since 2008, made available a collection with immersive virtual visits to national tourist spots, including museums, cultural heritage, churches, theaters and exhibitions. Ouro Preto (MG), Bom Jesus Sanctuary (MG) and Águas do Rio Grande are some of the national destinations available.

Virtual tours are guided and accompanied by audios and educational texts with versions in five languages, including Libras for the hearing impaired. The project, which is supported by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan), the Vale Foundation, Unesco and the Culture, Leisure and Tourism Foundation of Congonhas-MG (FUMCULT), also offers an application for smartphones and tablets that helps tourists on the face-to-face tour.

Reopening
With a focus on the resumption of the sector, the Ministry of Tourism launched, last Thursday (06/06) the seal “Responsible Tourism - Clean and Safe”. The initiative aims to assist tourists who will be concerned with looking for tourist establishments that ensure compliance with hygiene and cleaning requirements to prevent Covid-19.

The seal goes hand in hand with biosafety requirements and is the first stage of the Brazilian Tourism Recovery Plan, coordinated by MTur in order to minimize the impacts of the pandemic and prepare the sector for a gradual return to activities.
