"In the midst of this unprecedented situation, we continue to focus on our long-term growth," said Enrique Beltranena, President and CEO of the Mexican airline
Volaris, the ultra low cost airline that has democratized air travel in Mexico, the United States and Central America, and that has contributed significantly to the economic and social development of the communities where it operates, announces the incorporation of a new A320neo in its fleet, single-aisle aircraft with a capacity of 186 seats.
The A320neo arrives with the objective of reinforcing Volaris operations in Mexico City, to offer our clients around 150 flights and 30,000 additional seats per month, which are in addition to the 400,000 seats that the July already offers the Airline to multiple destinations from Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
The A320neo family of aircraft aligns with Volaris' Sustainability strategy, thanks to more eco-efficient engines that minimize the carbon footprint, by reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per aircraft by up to 16 percent year. Likewise, with this aircraft the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) are reduced 50 percent and the acoustic footprint 75 percent.
“In the midst of this unprecedented situation, at Volaris we remain focused on our long-term growth. In addition to reinforcing our Sustainability strategy, the incorporation of this new aircraft will allow us to continue reactivating the domestic air market mainly, to bring together friends and family, "said Enrique Beltranena, President and CEO of Volaris.
The Volaris fleet is one of the youngest in the Americas, with 4.6 years on average. The airline has 82 AIRBUS family aircraft, distributed as follows: 18 A320neo, 59 A320, 6 A321neo, 10 A321, and 7 A319. Of the entire fleet, 62 aircraft have sharklets.
