The Bahamas launches App to plan vacations

The new free mobile application from The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation provides an easy-to-use resource and tool for consumers planning a visit to the Islands of The Bahamas. The app's features include: downloadable island guides, charter flight request processing, and recommendations based on the user's geographic location within The Bahamas. It also highlights current offerings, Bahamas.com blog posts, an interactive map, and suggests top adventure, relaxation, and romance activities.
 
Downloadable island guides
The Bahamas consists of 16 main islands, each of which offers a unique tropical experience, from the luxury of Nassau Paradise Island to the isolation of the Out Islands. The “The Islands Of The Bahamas” mobile app features downloadable guides to each of the islands, including details and booking resources for hotels, activities, events, and transportation. They also highlight the climate and the essential destinations and activities on each island.
 
Charter flight request
With over 700 islands and cays, The Bahamas is a great island-to-island destination. And, with the mobile application "The Islands Of The Bahamas", it is easier than ever to rent flights between islands. Users of the application select the group size, which island they want to visit and on what dates. Within the next 24 hours, users of the application will receive the flight confirmation time and the total cost for the group with the following steps to finalize the reservation.
 
Geolocation capabilities
The mobile app uses geographic location to help visitors discover and much closer to restaurants, activities, national parks, historical monuments. Upon reaching any of the Bahamas' top 16 islands, app users can also unlock a geofencing-generated postcard to share with friends and family.
