Meliá Hotels International, the leading hotel company in Spain, celebrates the 20th anniversary of Meliá Lima, recently renovated with a project that cost one million dollars and was led by the ASAH studio of the Spanish architect Álvaro Sanz, who proposed a functional design and modern in keeping with the elegance and level of the brand. Although the reopening was scheduled to take place this year, the festivities were postponed due to the current situation.
“Twenty years are not fulfilled every day and we really wanted to celebrate it with our partners and collaborators. We want to thank you for all the support you have given us during all these years and also to highlight the guests who chose us from the first moment. Better times will come and we will be able to raise our glasses, not only to celebrate this milestone but also to celebrate meeting again, ”says Lati Naimi, director of Meliá Lima.
Of the total staff of the Hotel's collaborators, 16% have worked in the facilities since the beginning, while the rest, as Naimi highlights, are carrying out their duties, in some cases in management at other hotels in Peru and around the world.
Although Meliá Lima is operating, as it was the first day 20 years ago, it is not unaware of the situation and works hard in the care of both its staff and guests. "The Hotel already has the certifications to return to 'the new normal', both by the Government of Peru and by Meliá Hotels International, which has implemented its own protocols certified by Bureau Veritas" highlights Victor Zafer Dönmez, Regional Operations Managing Director, making sure that each property in the region complies with each of the points that seek not only to preserve the health of the guest, but also those who work there daily.
Once the “new normal” is just one more word, Meliá Lima will resume the property's renovation and improvement plan, to bring it in tune with the 20 years, and offer a renewed experience to guests. These works began in 2018 with the renovation of 112 of its 180 rooms and will continue, for a few more months, with the expansion to other areas such as the main lobby, restaurants and six event spaces. The complex, located in San Isidro, next to the Real Plaza Salaverry and close to the historical center of the city of Miraflores, has spacious and comfortable rooms, a great influence of local culture, and the services of the Meliá brand, among which THE LEVEL, the brand's premium service concept, is included.
“The directors, in each hotel we go through we leave a piece of our hearts. I can say with certainty that so far in my time at Meliá Lima, which will be two years old, she already has more than a piece of my heart. In this place I have a sense of total belonging. I feel at home, and I am proud that many guests demonstrate in the same way, "concludes Naimi, who today calls all employees to be strong and patient, trusting that hugs will return soon, those capable of knocking down any wall.
