Jamaica announces that Reggae Sumfest 2020 will be made online

The traditional event of the Caribbean country will take place from July 20 to 25. This year, due to the health crisis, it will be celebrated as a virtual experience

The festival, traditionally held in Montego Bay, will culminate in a two-day live music show - July 24 and 25 - with non-stop dancing and celebrations, during which the island's greatest artists take the stage. The exciting lineup will feature performances by a medley of dancehall and reggae stars including: Chronic Law, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Ding Dong, Agent Sasco, Spice, Maxi Priest, Koffee, Gyptian, Freddie McGregor and Shenseea. Both nights of live performances will be presented by Yanique.

"Reggae Sumfest adds extraordinary value to Jamaica as a destination, offering one of the most authentic cultural experiences on the island, both for locals and visitors," said Donovan White, Jamaica Director of Tourism. "In these times, Reggae Sumfest will be a vehicle to uplift, celebrate and bring joy to fans as they come together to experience the vibrant atmosphere and energy of Jamaica through our infectious music."

Reggae Sumfest 2020 will open its virtual doors to more than 360 million viewers through Facebook and Instagram platforms, creating a musical experience for lovers of reggae and dancehall. The festival aims to showcase Jamaica's tremendous impact on the world as a powerhouse in music, culture and lively celebrations. It will also offer professional panels of musicians, producers, and industry leaders to learn about best practices for using social media and how to successfully create visibility for your brands. Panelists include Jessie Woo, DJ Noire, and Stefon Bristol.
