Panama prepares to reactivate its tourism activity

As announced by Ivan Eskildsen, Administrator of the Tourism Authority of Panama, on September 28 the domestic activity would restart and on October 12 the international

Panama continues to make an effort to restart its tourism industry, on September 28, national flights would return to operate, beaches, rivers and national parks would be enabled. While on October 12, international aviation, hotels, motels, rural lodgings and the opening of tourist activities would be added.

It all depends on the evolution of the pandemic in the country since according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Panama, the following must be achieved:

  • RT index less than 1%
  • Fatality rate less than 3%
  • Availability of beds by 20%
  • Availability in the Respiratory Care Unit by 15%.

Until yesterday, Panama had registered 23,703 active cases out of 88,381 confirmed cases and a total of 1919 deaths.
