The rough work of the new international terminal that will begin to operate in 2021 has already been completed
This mega construction will expand the current Santiago terminal of 110 thousand meters. squares to more than 300 thousand meters. square, increasing its boarding gates from 31 to 76, thanks to an investment from Groupe ADP, VINCI Concessions and Astaldi Concessioni of more than 900 million dollars. This translates into greater capacity, greater efficiency and greater comfort for our passengers.
In addition, it is also working on the goal of becoming an airport with zero net carbon emissions with sustainable initiatives such as the installation of 2,645 solar panels that provide 25% of energy to the terminal.
Given the current situation, this is being possible thanks to the health and prevention measures applied during construction for the safety of all workers, such as physical distancing through the redistribution of days and an increase in approach buses (to avoid crowds) , portable sinks and alcohol gel dispensers, temperature measurement, delivery of masks, educational talks, among others, which have been reviewed by the Ministry of Health and the infectologist Dr. Michel Serri.
