The Panamanian airline reported that as of September 11 it will offer two weekly flights between Buenos Aires and the Tocumen International Airport
Copa Airlines reports that, as of Friday, September 11, after five months of not operating regularly due to travel restrictions imposed by governments throughout the region after the COVID-19 crisis, it will reconnect Buenos Aires in Argentina with 15 destinations in 9 countries of the American continent, through the Tocumen International Airport, located in Panama. This air operation takes place within the framework of Decree No. 300 of July 31, 2020, issued by the Government of Panama, which authorized the transit of passengers through that country.
The Airline will initially operate two weekly frequencies that will connect Buenos Aires, through the Tocumen International Airport on September 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25 with Miami, in the United States, Cancun, in Mexico, Guayaquil, in Ecuador .
"We hope that the restart of flights can help thousands of passengers who want to return home, reunite with their families, attend to health issues, important meetings, or family or professional commitments," said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines. "We continue to work with the governments of the region to expand the number of destinations and thus serve as many people as possible," he added.
People wishing to travel on the flights available in September will be able to find out the itineraries and make their reservation by going to copa.com, by contacting the Airline Reservation Center or through a Travel Agency. Passengers who have a valid ticket with Copa Airlines will be able to manage date changes without charging change fees. All passengers must comply with the requirements established by the Airline and the health and immigration authorities of the destination country.
Copa Airlines, whose main priority is the safety and well-being of its passengers and collaborators, has reinforced the disinfection, hygiene and biosafety measures and protocols, to offer a safe environment at each stage of the trip. These measures have been successfully tested on flights operated by the Airline in the last five months.
Additionally, all its aircraft are equipped with high-efficiency filters (HEPA), which purify up to 99.97% of virus and bacteria particles, similar to an operating room. In addition, its cabin air recirculation system renews the air every 2-3 minutes and its vertical displacement prevents it from being shared with passengers on the sides and in front. This, combined with the mandatory use of masks at all times, offers an extremely safe environment on board.
