The airline now offers more than 80 weekly flights from Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara to the iconic Mexican Caribbean city
On the occasion of the arrival of the first Aeroméxico flight on the new Guadalajara - Cancun route, the executives of the Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) received the plane with the traditional water bath and a brief press conference was held to celebrate the new route that will start with 7 weekly flights.
“We are filled with joy at the start of this flight that brings our friends from Guadalajara to the Mexican Caribbean. National tourism is one of our main strategic markets, so we are sure the Guadalajara-Cancun route with Aeroméxico will be a success. Tourists who visit us will live unforgettable experiences with the highest safety and hygiene protocols in the Mexican Caribbean ”, commented Darío Jesús Flota, Director General of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council.
For his part, Eng. Carlos Trueba Coll, director of the Cancun Airport, assured that “The Guadalajara - Cancun flight that Aeroméxico inaugurates today lets us see that the reactivation of the aeronautical and tourism industries is underway, which leads us to to reaffirm our commitment to work in coordination with other actors of the Private Initiative, as well as with the authorities of the three levels of government in favor of tourist destinations in the north of Quintana Roo ”.
“Guadalajara and Cancun are two of the most important tourist destinations in Mexico, recognized worldwide for their wide gastronomic and cultural offer. I also want to share a new record with you, today from Mexico City we are operating 5 flights to Cancun on our Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, something that had not happened ”. Giancarlo Mulinelli, Aeroméxico's Senior Vice President of Global Sales, mentioned.
With this route, Aeroméxico will offer more than 80 weekly flights from Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara to Cancun. The company will continue to apply its Health and Hygiene Management System to all operations.
