La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City began today to receive commercial flights six months after their suspension due to the Covid-19 health crisis.
The only Guatemalan international thus restarts operations with nine airlines that will connect the country with the United States, Mexico, Spain and the rest of Central America.
The reopening of the airport is part of the reopening of fornteras announced by the government for this Friday.
La Aurora was only open for cargo flights, humanitarian rescues, and the transfer of farm workers to Canada and the United States, among other exceptions.
Passengers entering Guatemala will have to have a certificate of being free of the Coronavirus or take the test upon arrival.
