IHG recognizes its best hotels in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean

The award-winning hotels were recognized for their achievements in 2019 in one or more of the categories Torchbearer, Quality of Excellence, 5 out of 5 Winning Metrics, Newcomer, New Development Design, Renovation and IHG Rewards Club Excellence.
The IHG Torchbearer Award is the company's most prestigious award, given for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operations, from quality to customer satisfaction. Seventeen hotels in Mexico and Latin America are among the 161 winners of this award in the Americas region.

Only 120 hotels in the Americas received the 5 out of 5 Winning Metrics recognition. This year, 4 hotels in Mexico: Crowne Plaza Querétaro, Holiday Inn Resort Acapulco, Holiday Inn Ciudad de México Trade Center and Holiday Inn Ciudad De México Perinorte, and a hotel in Latin America, the Holiday Inn Express Aeropuerto San José, Costa Rica, received the prestigious award based on achieving goals in each of the guest experience metrics.
Based on overall guest satisfaction from surveys, the IHG® Rewards Club Award of Excellence is awarded to hotels that deliver an outstanding and consistent guest experience. Only 9 hotels in the Americas region received this award, including the Holiday Inn Acapulco La Isla hotel.
The Renovation award is given to hotels that have completed a major modernization and renovation program during 2019. This year, the Holiday Inn Ciudad Juárez in Mexico is one of the 13 properties in the region that received the award for their recent renovations. .
New Development Design is the award for exemplary brand design, build quality and attention to detail given to 17 hotels in the Americas, including the Crowne Plaza Barranquilla hotel in Colombia and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ensenada in Mexico.
In honor of the award-winning achievements of 2019 and in recognition of their efforts, the company underscores its commitment to the communities and makes donations to Food Banks in the region. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, IHG and IHG branded hotels have worked to best support impacted communities in the region. These donations will support people from different communities facing economic challenges due to Covid-19, including those in the hospitality industry that has been hit hard.
