Yesterday, flight LH514 from Frankfurt landed at the Cancun International Airport, it was the first direct service from Europe to the Mexican destination since the reopening
This Thursday, October 1 at 2:58 p.m. local time, Lufthansa flight LH514 from Frankfurt, where the airline's largest operations center in Germany, landed at Cancun International Airport. Lufthansa returns to Cancun operating two weekly flights in October and increasing to three weekly frequencies at the end of the month.
On board came 260 passengers from countries as diverse as Germany, Great Britain, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Greece, France, Poland, Croatia, Israel, Turkey and Egypt, among others.
This flight is operated with an Airbus A340-300 aircraft, with a capacity for 279 passengers and with a configuration of three cabins: Business Class with 30 seats, Premium Economy Class with 28 seats and Economy Class with 221 seats.
To welcome such a special flight, representatives of the airline as well as authorities of the Cancun International Airport and the Quintana Tourism Promotion Council met in a private event (respecting the healthy distance and following the strictest health security protocols). The long-awaited flight was received with the traditional "Arco de Agua" and the respective ribbon cutting was made to reopen the route that will connect Cancun again with Germany and the world, making Lufthansa the first European airline to achieve another this connection with such a relevant destiny.

For his part, Eng. Darío Flota Ocampo, general director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council said: "With this flight the connection between Europe and the Mexican Caribbean is restarted, and we hope that, through the flight from Frankfurt - where has its Lufthansa operations center - we can receive travelers from different parts of the world, from Europe, for example, who many times have to make their connection at this Frankfurt airport to take the flight to Cancun. It is a great restart that we hope will be successful for the airline and for Quintana Roo”.
