Tocumen International Airport mobilized 54,041 passengers in 8 days

Since the government of Panama made official the reopening of the borders to commercial air services on October 12, the Tocumen International Airport has registered in the first 8 days of operations a global movement of 54,041 passengers.

The international reopening of the skies for regular operations in the isthmus has led to the entry into Panamanian territory until October 20, through the "Hub of Tocumen", 10,691 people.
While in the same period, a total of 7,675 passengers have used the facilities of the air terminal to depart for various destinations.

Regarding connecting flights, the Tocumen International Airport statistics highlight the transit of 35,675 travelers. Although the recovery of the airline industry is developing gradually, 8 passenger companies have already reestablished their air routes to and from Panama; Copa Airlines, Air France, Wingo, Iberia, United Airlines, KLM, American Airlines, Spirit and since October 26 the Avianca airline is incorporated.
However, as of November 1, the Turkish airline company Turkish Airlines joins that it will resume its operations between Istanbul and Tocumen International Airport with two frequencies a week, while Air Europa announced, through a statement, which will resume its route to Panama in the Christmas season with two weekly flights.
It should be noted that the Tocumen International Airport, "Hub of Panama" and an important regional connection center for Latin America, will expand its connectivity from November with flights
direct to 60 destinations in 31 countries (Until March it linked 94 cities in 39 countries) in South America (26), Central America and the Caribbean (17), North America (13) and Europe (4).
The reopening of international flights is carried out under strict biosecurity protocols and it is expected to gradually strengthen the national economy, the tourism industry, competitiveness and connectivity
of Panama with the world.
