Authorities held a meeting with the main officials of the thriving tourist destination
The meeting was led by Adrian Giménez, Director General of Inspectors, representing the Vice Minister of Destinations Management of MITUR, Patricia Mejía, Stephanie Kfoury, Regional Director and Jakaira Cid, Director of the Tourist Reactivation, representing the Ministry of Tourism, who presented the actions to be carried out immediately, in the medium and long term.
The opening remarks at this meeting were made by Kfoury and the director of the Specialized Body for Tourist Security (CESTUR), Juan Carlos Torres Robiou, FARD, (DEM).
Jakaira Cid, who was in charge of the objective of the table and the axes to work on it, said that the meeting is to create opinion dialogues and alliances between the public-private sectors, providing effective and positive work strategies, contributing with ideas for the improvement and sustainability of our destination.
During the working meeting, the following working committees were formed:
Prevention of Prostitution and Procuring.
Desarrabalización and Beautification of the Beaches.
Puerto Plata Province Infrastructure Committee.
Representatives of the civil government participated in the meeting; the municipal mayor, Diómedes Roque García; the Attorney General of Puerto Plata, Osvaldo Bonilla. Also present were the northern regional director of the National Police, General Jacinto Minaya.
Likewise, representatives of CESTUR, the Puerto Plata Air Base, the Playa Dorada Hotel Association, ASHONORTE, the Tourism Cluster, Amber Cove Port, the Loading Dock and Taíno Bay.
In addition, the Municipality of Sosua, Ministry of Culture, local Directorate of Migration, Environment and Public Works and Communications.
Carnival Cruise Line, representatives of the Sustainable Development Association of Sosua (ADSS), ASHORESOCA, among other personalities of the sector.
