Argentina opens its borders for tourists from neighboring countries

During the first stage it will only be by air entry and in the case of Uruguay, it will also be enabled by ship

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, Matías Lammens, assured that the National Government made the decision to open the borders to receive tourists from neighboring countries. During the first stage it will only be by air entry and, in the case of Uruguay, it will also be enabled by ship.

"We believe that the conditions are in place for tourists to come to Argentina, in this new stage where we have to live with the virus. We know the importance of the income that the sector represents. We work with the Ministry of Health of the Nation so that this could happen. It is a new stage of the pandemic that allows us to turn the page, without abandoning the fight against the coronavirus or neglecting all the efforts made, "the minister said in statements to the media.

The initiative is part of the latest measures carried out to reactivate the sector, such as the definition that there will be a summer season and the implementation of PreTravel, the largest investment by the National State in the sector, to reactivate domestic tourism.
