As of November 1, the negative PCR test is also eliminated for both foreign and national tourists who enter yachts or sailboats through the maritime border
With the aim of continuing on the path of reactivating tourism employment, as of November 1, meeting centers and event rooms, including hotels, will be able to attend business and academic activities for a maximum of 150 people, with which doubles the previously authorized capacity. This figure does not include the logistics staff attending the event.
In addition, in the specific case of social activities such as basket teas or weddings, the maximum allowed capacity will be 30 people, also without the inclusion of those in charge of attending the event.
It should be emphasized that in both types of activities, the health measures for the prevention of COVID-19 are exhaustively maintained. The list of measures reiterates the separation of seats at 1.8 meters, the conscious respect of social bubbles, as well as the preparation of a list of attendees with identification number and telephone number, together with the use of alcohol gel and the use of masks and strict compliance with everything established in the related protocols.
Gustavo J. Segura Sancho, Rector Minister of Tourism, emphasized the call to private sector companies in the tourism industry to continue to comprehensively adopt prevention protocols and to national and international tourists to vacation responsibly, following all the precautions to avoid contagion.
“A few days before the opening of the air borders to all the countries of the world on November 1, I strongly request the observance and impeccable adoption of protocols for the protection in the first instance of the health of our population and that of the tourists, and for the protection of tourism jobs throughout the country under the pandemic management model 'Costa Rica works and takes care of itself,' ”said the leader.
The requirement of the PCR test for yacht and sailboat tourism is eliminated
At the same time, as of November 1, Costa Rica eliminates the requirement of a negative PCR test for both foreign tourists and Costa Ricans entering yachts or sailboats across the maritime borders.
Neither nationals nor foreigners will receive a sanitary confinement order upon entering the country, thus equating the requirements established for those who arrive in the country by air.
As we have pointed out before, the sustainability of these measures will depend on the evolution of the pandemic.
Under these new announcements there is a specific review of the entry requirements to the country in force within the framework of the development of this new normality, this coupled with the visa requirements that the country requires:
-Complete the epidemiological form PASE DE SALUD, https://salud.go.cr
-Acquire health insurance that meets the parameters established by executive decree.
Foreigners with the migratory category of permanent, temporary resident or special category, in the latter case with the exception of the Student Subcategory who cannot demonstrate the Costa Rican social security insurance, may present travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 22 days. However, they will be notified of a warning to order their insurance status before the Costa Rican Social Security Fund.
Finally, the call to refrain from traveling is reiterated to those who have symptoms such as fever, dry cough, sore throat, fatigue, flu or the like.
