Grupo Piñero reopens Bahia Principe Grand Tulum

The establishment has been completely remodeled with an investment of 40 million dollars, which is part of the chain's reinvestment policy and responds to the firm commitment to the development of the country

Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with more than 40 years of history, reopens the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum hotel, located on the beachfront of the Riviera Maya. This establishment is one of the most emblematic hotels of the Bahia Principe brand and the first with which it began operating in Mexico more than 20 years ago.

The reopening, which took place on November 15, also has a very special meaning for the company, as it occurs after a thorough reform of its rooms and common areas, a process in which the company has invested a total of 40 million euros. Dollars. This operation is part of Grupo Piñero's reinvestment policy, whose objective is to continue adding value to the tourism sector. This important milestone represents, in addition to the generation of more than 400 direct jobs, in addition to the 2,500 it already has with other hotels and business divisions and a multitude of indirect jobs, a faithful reflection of the group's firm commitment to the development of the country.

A return to the "origin", inspired by the Mayan culture
The reform project has focused on the “Origin” concept, based on nature and the roots of the Mayan culture. For this, rooms and common areas have been redesigned following the same conceptual line: the ancestral Mexican and Mayan tradition. "At Grupo Piñero we maintain a firm commitment to offering our guests unique and exciting experiences, through differential spaces that contribute to generating unforgettable memories of their stays in our establishments," says Isabel Piñero, Grupo Piñero's vice president of marketing and communication. “On this occasion, we wanted to strengthen the hotel's bond with its surroundings and its origin. An incomparable natural setting that radiates history, tradition and legacy from every corner ”, he adds.

On the other hand, gastronomy takes on a special role in the renovated Bahia Principe Grand Tulum through its themed restaurants and the main buffet. In addition, another of its outstanding spaces is Zama Fun Area, where the family and the little ones can experience first-hand the Origin of the Mayan culture, made up of ten different recreational areas. To this are added other facilities such as the swimming pool, the solarium, the wet bar or the renovated theater, inspired by the Mayan warriors where different shows will be offered every night, which, in the same way, transmit the origin of the Mayan tradition. Another aspect to highlight of this reform is the landscaping project, which highlights the nature of the environment with the use of native species that are integrated into the landscape in an organic way.

Bet on sustainable tourism
Likewise, within the framework of its commitment to contribute to local communities and the surroundings of the destinations in which the company is present, the development and resources allocated to the Comprehensive Coastal Management Plan stand out. This project, which responds to the company's corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy, has five programs within which actions are carried out aimed at improving the state of the beaches, achieving better management of resources, promoting the conservation of biodiversity, promote sustainable landscape management and promote environmental awareness and education. Specifically in Mexico, the Coastal Restoration Plan has been launched within the Playas program. Said plan is focused on recovering the hydrodynamic balance of the bay, the restoration of the dune strip and the planning of accesses and uses of the coastal area. This project has the backing of the Bahia Principe Ecological Foundation and its team of professionals who participate directly in all the conservation projects that Grupo Piñero has championed in Mexico for more than 20 years.
