Argentina increases its connectivity with Brazil

As of December 13, it will go from 25 to 39 weekly air frequencies

INPROTUR and the Argentine Embassy in Brazil developed a virtual meeting, led by the institute's executive secretary, Ricardo Sosa, and the Ambassador, Daniel Scioli, with the aim of promoting the arrivals of the highest number of tourists to our country. Aerolineas Argentinas will incorporate 2 flights from Salvador to Buenos Aires.

Almost 1.5 million tourists from Brazil received Argentina in 2019. This result positioned the Brazilian market as a leader in the ranking of arrivals of travelers to our country. In addition, despite the difficulties that arose this year in the world due to the pandemic, during the months of January and February, Argentina had a very good performance and received 295,497 Brazilians and Brazilians, 4.6 percent higher than the same period. 2019.

With the premise of reaffirming these data, but with the commitment to increase them even more, yesterday the National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR) held a virtual meeting with the Argentine Embassy in Brazil.

The meeting was led by the executive secretary of INPROTUR, Ricardo Sosa, and the Argentine Ambassador, Daniel Scioli. Both were accompanied by members of the institute's team, the consuls of Curitiba, Pedro Marotta; Foz de Iguazú, Roberto Lafforgue; Porto Alegre, Jorge Perren; Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Gutiérrez; Belo Horizonte, Ivan López Carlevaro and different diplomatic members.

“Brazil is the most important strategic focus for Argentina, being the largest source of tourists to our country. From INPROTUR we are open to working together with the Embassy and consulates to promote the arrival of Brazilian tourists in the medium and long term. We know we can do it and we are aiming towards it ”, declared Sosa.

The reopening of borders for tourists from neighboring countries, promotional work for 2021 and, fundamentally, air connectivity were some of the topics discussed in the quest to attract the largest number of Brazilians.

It should be noted that there are currently 25 weekly air frequencies from Brazil to Argentina, but as of December 13 they will increase to 39 thanks to the efforts and management of INPROTUR together with Aerolineas Argentinas.

In this way, the national flag carrier São Paulo will go from 7 to 14 frequencies (2 daily flights) from and from Rio de Janeiro from 2 to 7 (one daily). In addition, it will have 2 weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays) from Salvador. To these frequencies are added 7 from LATAM, 5 from Gol, 3 from Turkish Airlines and 1 from Ethiopian Airlines.
