The advances are added to the actions of the Ministry of Tourism that recognizes activities and professionals in the sector committed to the prevention of Covid-19
The number of Brazilian states that already have the Safe Travels seal of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) is growing, a recognition of the adoption of biosafety protocols against the new coronavirus. This is the case of Alagoas, Ceará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Catarina and São Paulo, which adopt global health and hygiene protocols in the context of the pandemic .
The prerequisites for obtaining the seal, which is supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and around 200 large companies in the sector worldwide, are updated in accordance with the information available on Covid-19. The brand follows the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
The initiative joins the actions developed in Brazil by the Ministry of Tourism, which grants the Responsible Tourism Seal to activities and professionals who follow the measures to prevent the disease. Launched in June of this year, the MTur seal already has almost 24 thousand members, especially tourism agencies, lodging facilities, tourist guides, tourist carriers and cafeterias, bars and the like, among others.
The Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, reinforces the need to provide security to visitors. “Ensuring health security is one of our priorities in the resumption of tourism. More and more people who are resuming trips are looking for information on preventive measures, and the great adherence to the Responsible Tourism Seal shows that we are on the right path to achieve the full recovery of the sector ”, he evaluates.
The importance of care in the industry can be measured by a survey conducted by Elo / TRVL Lab, a partnership between the payments company, the Panrotas website, and the Mapie consultancy. According to the study, six out of ten Brazilians consider compliance with health protocols essential during travel. The survey also indicates that, when choosing hotels, more than 82% of consumers find it essential to adopt preventive measures.
The five Brazilian states that lead the adherence to the MTur Responsible Tourism Seal are: São Paulo (4,708), Rio de Janeiro (3,552), Minas Gerais (2,116), Bahia (1,810) and Rio Grande do Sul (1,554). To request it, it is necessary to be in a regular situation with Cadastur, the official registry of tourism service providers. Registration in the system is fast, free and can be done online by clicking HERE.
Then simply go to the project website, read the guidelines, and adhere to the self-declaration that meets the determined criteria. The applicant is then directed to an area of the portal where they can download the mark for printing. Also totally free, the seal, developed in partnership with the tourism sector and certified by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), must be placed in a place that is easy for the customer to access.
It contains a QR Code, which allows you to check the measures taken by companies and professionals, in addition to reporting breaches. On the initiative's website there is also a set of recommendations for travelers, who should also contribute to preventive actions. The seal is available for 15 activities, such as lodging, theme parks, restaurants, convention centers, fairs, exhibitions and tourist guides, among others.
