Carlos Joaquín affirmed that health measures should not be relaxed to avoid going backwards in terms of the recovery of the economy
The governor of Quintana Roo led the third and final stage of the signing of the “Responsible Economic Reactivation Pact” -with the productive, social and academic sectors- with the objective of achieving a balance between health care and economic recovery.
It was first signed in Chetumal, in the south; later, in Tulum, in the downtown area, and now in Cancun, in the north area.
Carlos Joaquín explained that everyone in Quintana Roo wants to have an immediate economic recovery, as it is a priority.
He warned that, if he did not do it with preventive measures and hygiene habits, social relaxation would lead to the serious risk of having a re-outbreak of covid-19 infections and would regress in what has been achieved.
The head of the Executive Branch reported that a downward curve has been maintained in recent weeks, but in the daily review it has been detected that this curve has stopped and the possibility of a regrowth is open.
He explained that the coronavirus is with the people, it has not left, it has not had modifications, there is no vaccine yet, there is no treatment that allows the cure of it, therefore, the conditions are not very different from those that are they had when this epidemic started.
"Of course, we know him more, we have more experience in handling, but his conditions are the same and, in such a situation, it puts us at risk of being infected and that with that contagion we can infect other people, our families, our society, and that, derived from that, then we have to go back in terms of the recovery of our economy, ”said Carlos Joaquín.
For this reason, the final stage of signing the "Responsible Economic Reactivation Pact" was carried out with representatives of the tourism, restaurant, educational and transport sectors; business chambers; the workers' unions; the fishing, agricultural and commercial sectors; the youth sector and civil society, among others that pledged to strengthen measures and habits in the face of the new normal.
The governor invited citizens to make use of the rapid tests that are available and that are approved by COFEPRIS.
He announced that they will be working on a process to apply rapid tests in some neighborhoods, which present a greater number of active positive cases of covid-19, which are registered through the state geoportal to support the reduction of infections in them. .
Alejandra Aguirre, head of the Ministry of Health in the state, pointed out that there is again a downward trend, but to continue like this, everyone must take care.
“Currently, in Quintana Roo, we have a favorable trend regarding the management of the epidemic. We have optimal levels of hospital occupancy and a low rate of case growth. However, we must not relax contagion mitigation measures. Regardless of the color of the traffic light we are in, the hygiene practices that we must follow are the same ”, informed Alejandra Aguirre.
The general coordinator of communication Carlos Orvañanos Rea recalled the "#PonteVivo" campaign, which promotes the habits that must be maintained in this new normal, which implies coexistence with covid-19.
He mentioned that the signing of the pact is of the utmost importance because all sectors (business, trade union, government, education ...) must make the maximum effort to work on a common goal: health care hand in hand with economic reactivation.
This meeting was attended by Judge José Antonio León Ruiz, president of the Superior Court of Justice and the Council of the State Judiciary; the deputy Erick Gustavo Miranda García, president of the Government and Political Coordination Board of the State Congress; Arturo Abreu Marín, state delegate of Programs for Development in the State of Quintana Roo; Mayuli Martínez Simón, senator of the republic for Quintana Roo; Mara Lezama, municipal president of Benito Juárez; Laura Fernández Piña, municipal president of Puerto Morelos; Juan Carrillo Soberanis, municipal president of Isla Mujeres, and Nivardo Mena Villanueva, municipal president of Lázaro Cárdenas.
In addition, heads and representatives of the various sectors that make up the signing of the "Responsible Economic Reactivation Pact" attended.
