The Tourism Board of the City of Buenos Aires organized a meeting with more than 300 registrants to present the 5 new boards that are incorporated into the 6 already existing in the Tourist Intelligence System (SIT). It is a tool that provides all the information about tourism and uses Big Data techniques to improve decision-making in both the public and private sectors.
The meeting was attended by Gonzalo Robredo, president of the Tourism Board of the City of Buenos Aires, who gave the words of welcome and made a brief introduction, and then gave way to Aldo Elias, president of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism, Mario Ijelman, 1st Vice-president of the Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies of Buenos Aires (AVIABUE) and Juan Pablo Ruiz Nicolini, National Director of Markets and Statistics of the Sub-secretariat of Strategic Development of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Then, continued Federico Esper, general director of Market Intelligence and Observatory, who delved into each of the boards to better understand the benefits generated by each of them.
The new boards allow us to know tourist consumption with a credit and debit card, where we can know the spending patterns of national and international travelers in 200 areas of the City, grouped by neighborhoods and more than 10 possible consumption items, distributed in the range of one hour and days of the week.
