The Ministry of Tourism and Sports signed a framework agreement with the Association of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism of Argentina (AAETAV)
The objective of the agreement is to carry out training sessions that help to strengthen the segment and generate tools to standardize the quality of the service.
During the virtual meeting, Minister Matías Lammens stated: “To promote and promote nature tourism is one of the objectives that we set when we assumed management in the Ministry, and at present we consider it a fundamental pillar for the development of all the activity in the post-pandemic world ”.
Meanwhile, Carlos Pelli, the president of AAETAV, highlighted that “in this new normality, both intermediaries and promoters of this tourism segment and the end user are requiring new information and greater tools to be able to contract or sell ecotourism and active tourism activities , related to the new protocols and emergency parameters ”.
"Nature tourism represents a great opportunity in the tourism development of Argentina. The joint work with the AAETAV is in line with the search for greater competitiveness as a destination, training providers and operators in order to generate safe and quality services in nature ", stated the director of Nature Tourism, Claudina González.
Founded in 2005, AAETAV represents the private sector in nature tourism and active or adventure tourism (providers, guides, agencies and operators) and has 120 partners in fourteen provinces. It has collaborated with the Argentine Tourism Quality System (SACT) since 2007.
The joint work plan will advance especially in the area of training, with courses that will include some 300 people from all over the country, around 20 percent of the list of providers surveyed.
The planned themes are "Risk management in natural and wild areas" and "WFR-International Risk Certification". These two contents will generate an improvement in the quality and safety in the provision of services in nature.
At the international level, they are usually requirements requested by foreign agencies or operators for contracting services in the country. The incorporation of this type of certificates and contents increases the competitiveness of the country in this regard.
