Ministry of Tourism of Brazil presents the destinations that will be a trend for 2021

The list of 21 cities has been compiled based on a survey carried out with the main travel sites operating in the country

The appreciation of domestic tourism is one of the trends identified in tourism behavior in the post-pandemic scenario of Covid-19 and, considering this, the Ministry of Tourism has just published a list of the 21 destinations that will be a trend for 2021. The survey It was made based on the main research sites in the sector, as well as publications and destinations that are aligned with the demand of the new tourist. In this scenario, the cities of Brasilia (DF), Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Maceió (AL) appear at the top of the analyzed database.

In the Midwest region, the municipalities of Alto Paraíso de Goiás and Cavalcante also appear where the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park is located, chosen as one of the 25 best "National Parks" in the world by National Geographic. The same publication listed the closed Brazilian as the only destination in Brazil indicated in the list of the 25 best trips to plan in the future.

“The survey reinforces that we are on the right track for the resumption to take place. Domestic tourism has enormous potential that deserves to be known by Brazilians. It is in this approach that the Ministry of Tourism has been working, to offer better infrastructure, increasingly qualified services and following biosecurity protocols, ”said Minister Gilson Machado Neto.

The southeast, along with the northeast, leads the list with seven destinations: Angra dos Reis (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG), Petrópolis (RJ), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), São Paulo (SP), São Sebastião (SP) ). )) and Ubatuba (SP). In the Northeast, the seven destinations are: Fortaleza (CE), Ipojuca (PE), João Pessoa (PB), Maceió (AL), Natal (RN), Porto Seguro (BA) and Salvador (BA).

The South region has four destinations: Curitiba (PR), Florianópolis (SC), Foz do Iguaçu (PR) and Gramado (RS). The destinations follow the behavioral trend identified in post-covid travelers to opt for nature destinations or with a focus on rural tourism. According to Booking, 59% of those surveyed intend to go to a nearby destination. Still according to the search engine, another strong trend is the option for fast trips, three out of four (73%) Brazilians want to make more short trips in 2021 than in 2019 - occupying, once again, the first place in the world ranking among the travelers who have demonstrated this desire.

The “Responsible, Clean and Safe Tourism” seal, of the Ministry of Tourism, identifies establishments and tourism guides that have declared their commitment to adopt biosafety protocols to protect tourists and workers against Covid-19.
