RIU announces the opening of the Riu Palace Santa Maria

RIU reopens in Cape Verde, specifically in Isla de Sal, after several months of hiatus and does so by opening its new Riu Palace Santa Maria hotel. This 5-star establishment, which is the great project with which the chain starts this year 2021, opens in the destination, forming together with the Riu Cabo Verde and Riu Funana a great hotel complex that does not lack detail. The three establishments, connected to each other, have direct access to the beach.

The Riu Palace Santa Maria hotel, located on the beach, brings an important novelty: a Splash Water World. This space will be located in the interior part of the hotel together with a water games park and the RiuLand club, for the little ones, as well as a bar where all the guests of the complex will be able to make a stop to recharge their batteries.

The Riu Palace Santa Maria hotel has a total of 1,001 rooms spread over six blocks. The rooms offer a warm, modern and welcoming space, thanks to the harmony obtained by the color range and the choice of materials. The protagonists of the design are nature, as well as decorative elements inspired by ethnic style. The furniture is made of dark wood, which together with the earth tones of the floors, adds warmth to the whole.

Following the ethnic line that pays tribute to the destination, and as a feature that marks the special character of this hotel, all the blocks where the rooms are located have an entrance portico presided over by a huge mask, 12 meters high, and each one of they are different so that the customer can easily identify your building. All these entrance towers can be seen from the central path that runs through the hotel starting from the reception area.

Upon entering the hotel, the client will find a spacious and bright lobby characterized by straight lines with the absence of ornamentation, resulting in a sober, elegant and timeless space. In addition, it has several skylights that, together with its large windows, allow abundant light to enter. Another characteristic is that the skylight that is located in the center of the lobby is a characteristic element due to its large dimensions and its central positioning, being the link between the different spaces that the lobby houses and becoming a space that does not go unnoticed. in the eyes of the guests.
 
Another of the peculiarities of this hotel is that its main façade is covered by a natural limestone from Isla de Sal, paying a new tribute to Cape Verdean culture and nature.

Spread between the main building and next to the Splash area, the hotel has a total of five restaurants and seven bars. The customer will be able to fully enjoy all these gastronomic options thanks to RIU's exclusive 24-hour All Inclusive service.

In its outdoor area it houses a total of eight swimming pools, six of which are located in front of the beach, joined by a large solarium with a multitude of corners for relaxation and areas for sports activities. The other two are in the area shared by the three hotels, one of which belongs to the Splash Water World and the other to the new RiuLand, with games and water jets for the little ones. In addition, the hotel offers a wide range of sports options and daytime and evening entertainment.
 
The opening of the Riu Palace Santa Maria is carried out with the aim of reactivating this destination that has been stopped for months due to the crisis caused by COVID-19. The reopening is made possible thanks to TUI Poland's programming, which operates two weekly flights since March 14. With this new hotel, RIU adds six establishments to its portfolio in Cape Verde, having three on Isla de Sal and another three on Isla de Boa Vista.
