The II Edition of the MICE #MeetSafe Week will take place from April 5 to 9
The Cabildo Quito, through the Metropolitan Public Tourism Destination Management Company - Quito Tourism, develops actions that promote the city as one of the most important event destinations in the Region.
In this context, and taking advantage of the fact that on April 8 the world will celebrate the Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), the II Edition of the MICE #MeetSafe Week is taking place, from April 5 to 9, through which the Actions promoted from Quito and its industry to ensure that the city is considered a biosecure destination for the development of congresses, meetings and corporate events at the national and international level.
The MICE week started on Monday, April 5 with the launch of the video "Quito #Meet Safe" that promotes the holding of meetings and corporate events in the "Capital of the Center of the World". In addition, the interview conducted by Latinamerican Meetings with Carla Cárdenas, General Manager of Quito Tourism, was presented.
Continuing with the agenda, this Tuesday, April 6, the webinars "MICE Tourism, the need to reinvent itself in the face of the pandemic" and "Hybrid Events: new professional opportunities" will be presented, which will show the opportunities of the tourism industry. meetings, from the vision and research of the Academy. The presentations will be given by representatives of the UTE and UIDET universities.
On Wednesday, April 7, the union agenda will be presented with the webinar “Best Practices in handling post-pandemic events” by the Quito Chamber of Commerce. The discussion will address the best practices implemented in post COVID events, as a testimony of adaptation and commitment of the Meetings Industry with its clients.
On Thursday, April 8, there will be a webinar with internationally recognized experts from the sector, such as Fernando Compean, who will present the topic "Demystifying the future of Meetings Tourism", and Silvana Biaglotty, president of CVBs (Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus of Latin America and the Caribbean) with the theme: "Meetings Industry and Health Passport".
Finally, on Friday, April 9, we will close with the publication of the study "Importance and impact of the meetings industry in tourism activity" that deepens the impact of the Meetings Industry in our economy and that will serve as a tool for those who dedicated to this tourism sector to consider the best scenario for the development of post-pandemic events.
